Park come out on top against old rivals.

Charlton Park emerged victorious in the first league match between the 2 sides for 15-odd years in a typically closely fought game at Barnet Wood Road, in the company of a few blasts form the past on the touchline.

Again, fielding a much changed side which contained a few welcome returnees, Park found themselves under the cosh , playing into the face of storm Darragh, as Parkhouse scored an early try out wide on the left.
Parkhouse extended their lead after 20 mins after Park attempted a kick into the gale and were caught offside. From the resultant penalty, Parkhouse forwards rumbled over form the ensuing lineout, with the kick converted to go into a 12-0 lead.
Park though, were playing with great spirit and at times, accuracy. A score, following a great passage of play was only prevented by a Park player holding on in the tackle close to the line.
However, shortly after, following a break by Ross Sidebottom, Linga took the ball up to score under the posts. The conversion form Ross, made it 12-7.
Just before Half time, the home side scored a try form a simple move from a scrum to edge them further ahead at the break.
Halftime score 17-7.
Park started the second half strongly, only a knock on preventing a try in the first minute. But Park were soon over the line, with a typically powerful run form Kini, following some nice lead up play. The conversion was again slotted by Ross. At 17-14 Park were well in the game, playing some sensible, powerful rugby, with Callum Prudence and Bruce Tuikova leading the way.
Park took the lead on the hour mark, again following some good lead up play by the forwards and when the ball went wide Linga burst through the defence to set up Jake Conway for the try. Shortly after Park were reduced to 14 when Kini was shown a yellow card for a high tackle. However Park weathered the storm during his absence
and were now searching for the bonus point try to seal the win. Park house were shipping penalties under the Park pressure and another saw Ross put a great kick into the corner.
Following the lineout, the ball found it's way to the front row, who collectively bundled over for the score.
With about 5 minutes to go, Park house were now throwing everything (mainly their huge TH prop, at Park, but well disciplined defence enabled Park to hang on for a much deserved victory.
