A Warm Welcome
After an enforced week off, Charlton Park return to league action and proudly welcome the players, officials, and travelling supporters of Ashford Rugby. We also extend a huge Park welcome to our new players making their debuts today—a moment that always brings excitement, optimism, and a reminder of what makes grassroots rugby so special. To every new face pulling on the jersey: we’re delighted to have you, and we wish you all the very best.

Where We Stand
Park come into this one after a frustrating 28–17 defeat to old rivals Park House—a game defined by missed chances and costly lapses. The result leaves us bottom on 17 points, but the table remains incredibly tight: just three points separate the bottom four sides. With seven matches still to play, there is everything to fight for. Points matter. Bonus points matter. Momentum matters.
Ashford, meanwhile, sit comfortably in mid‑table on 38 points despite a 21–12 home defeat to Crowborough last time out. Earlier in the season they beat us 49–24, though that match was one of Park’s more spirited performances and earned us a try bonus point. There’s unfinished business here.

Our Opponents: Ashford RFC
Ashford’s rugby roots stretch back to the early 1880s, when Norton Knatchbull schoolboys organised rough‑and‑ready games on fields near Cradle Bridge. By 1885 the club was formally established, joining both the Kent County RFU and the RFU. From those humble beginnings—muddy pitches, tight finances, and pure enthusiasm—Ashford grew into a cornerstone of local sport.
Across generations, the club has been a community hub: a place where families gather, young players learn the game, and rugby becomes part of the town’s identity. Today, Ashford RFC continues that proud tradition with thriving men’s, women’s, and youth sections. Nearly 150 years on, the spirit remains the same: history behind them, ambition ahead of them.

Tucker’s Take
Selection headaches—but the good kind. A surge of new players over the past month has expanded the squad and raised competition for places. Training numbers have been excellent, intensity high, and the integration of our French contingent has been a real positive. They’re settling in brilliantly and pushing hard for starting spots.

Team News
Debut days are always special, and today we celebrate three new players stepping into the first‑team environment:
• Tevin Amisi‑Safi – Back row
• Lenny Jeannoutot – Back row
• Jordan Durrant – Bench, joining from Greenwich RFC
Tevin and Lenny join fellow Amos College student Louis Gounet, who starts at scrum‑half. All three French lads hail from the Toulouse region and bring real energy and enthusiasm to the squad.
Injuries and unavailability continue to disrupt continuity, but the belief remains strong that this group can deliver a performance worthy of the shirt.
