Club Announcement
Shae Tucker

The committee is saddened to confirm that Shae Tucker will step down as Head Coach of Charlton Park RFC at the end of March, due to personal circumstances. Shae, who works as a financial analyst for the TP ICAP Group, will be relocating to Sydney, Australia. This move represents an important professional and personal opportunity, allowing him and Tayla to be closer to their home and family in New Zealand.

Shae joined Charlton Park in the summer of 2025 following an impressive playing career with Hawkes Bay, the Cornish Pirates, and Blackheath. Since arriving, he has made a significant and lasting contribution to the club. His leadership has driven a clear cultural shift, particularly around training standards and attendance, with Monday and Wednesday sessions consistently growing in numbers. Taking charge during a period of complete squad rebuild, he dedicated considerable time to engaging with prospective players and rebuilding the programme from the ground up.

CEO Doug Hursey said:

“We are sorry to see Shae leave, but we fully understand his reasons. We would like to thank him for all of his hard work over the last year. He has made a real impact, and he will be sorely missed.”

Shae Tucker said:

“It does suck to be leaving the club, and honestly the rugby and Charlton Park were the only things that made this decision difficult. That’s testament to a great club, a great culture, and I’ve enjoyed it a lot.”

We extend our warmest wishes to Shae and Tayla for the future — both in their careers and as they look ahead to their upcoming marriage.

An announcement about his successor will be made in due course.
