Charlton Park RFC Hosts Kent v Cornwall Clash

Richard Cox31 May - 15:32

Powered by Volunteers

Charlton Park RFC welcomed a big crowd to Broad Walk on Saturday 30 May as Kent hosted Cornwall in the second leg of their County Championship encounter. Cornwall were deserved 56–19 winners on the day, sealing a commanding 129–33 aggregate victory. We offer our warm congratulations to Cornwall, and we hope their players and supporters enjoy a fantastic day out at Twickenham in the final against Lancashire. Their travelling fans — one hundred strong, passionate, respectful, and full of good humour — created a brilliant atmosphere and were a credit to their clubs and their County. They will be warmly welcomed back to Charlton Park any time.

While Cornwall took the honours on the pitch, the day itself was a triumph for Charlton Park RFC thanks to the extraordinary effort of the club’s volunteers. On one of the hottest days of the year, dozens of people gave their time to ensure the event ran smoothly, safely, and with the trademark Charlton Park hospitality. From running the bar to managing the gate, from parking cars to keeping the grounds immaculate, every contribution mattered — and together they made the day a genuine success.
