In front of a decent crowd at the first home game of the season, Park succumbed to a faster, more accurate and more cohesive Beccehemian side.
Prior to the match, a minute's silence was held in memory of ex- captain Torban Williams whose untimely passing shocked everyone at the club.
Despite a strong start, fielding several new players and missing several experienced players who were attending Luke Boyns' wedding, Park found themselves 14 points down after 15 minutes. Park however, came back and continuous pressure resulted in a yellow card for the opposition number 7.
From a succession of scrums, park eventually scored a try through Ross Sidebottom who kicked the conversion himself.
Beccehamian scored 2 further tries, 1 converted, towards the end of the half to extend their lead.
Half time score 7-26
The second half was pretty much a repeat of the first, the speed of opposition ball, and Park's inability to move together defensively resulted in a further 3 tries, 2 of which were converted.
Final Score 7-45
At times, Park showed what they are capable of but ultimately, they were beaten by a very well-drilled side.
There must be improvement at lineout, ball retention and defensive organisation and communication
An even bigger challenge is imminent next week when Park visit Canterbury Pilgrims. Kick off is 3pm.
