He was a lovely man; calm, strong, caring, totally reliable. He was a fixture at the club over nigh-on 40 years, starting as a back row whose bravery and lack of  interest in the offside law made him perfect for the position.

He then supported Jackie in creating and sustaining our high reputation for hospitality. As well as providing food for players and pre-match lunches they catered for county matches and practices and midweek City League games and, of course, ran the Christmas children’s party. He will be irreplaceable.

Our thoughts are with Jackie, Nicole and the family.
