A staggering 32 people completed Tommy Nightingale’s challenge to run 100km by the end of May (31 finished in time and one completed it one day late but as he was busy being an NHS essential worker we’re counting that).

Some runners ran more than 400km during the challenge, which began on 14 April. And front-row star Beau has started another challenge to run 160km (100 miles in old money) during June. This is the Nike Run Club app’s highest (platinum) monthly accolade. Some 16 runners have signed up for the new challenge and 14 have already run, with 11 runners already posting tens of kilometres on the board in less than a week.

But the competition for fastest over shorter distances really heated up during the initial challenge. For the first time here are the results in full to the end of May:

And Riz posted a 1km time of just 04.26, shaving 15 seconds off his previous fastest.

The challenge may have finished but the competitive spirit lives on.
