The club was honoured with a visit from the RFU President, Jeff Blackett, on Sunday. Here he presents Doug with a commemorative plaque before his 10 mile walk visiting local clubs.

He and his wife Sally, who are undertaking a 150 mile, 15-day nationwide tour to raise money for the Injured Players Foundation (IPF) as part of the RFU’s official 150th Anniversary celebrations, started their Kent visit from Charlton Park on 24th October. They were sent on their way by county chairman Roger Clark, president Doug Hursey and representatives of the county and the clubs to be visited and weighed down by a breakfast feast of coffee, bacon rolls and pastries courtesy of Pauline.

From the club they headed out to visit Shooters Hill and Brockleians before ending at Blackheath’s headquarters at Well Hall.
