Having some time on my hands at present (don’t ask) I thought I’d do a bit of results punditry. I looked at the fixtures still outstanding and had a guess at where the league points might have gone had those games been played. In most cases this was not difficult, although there were some tight games where you could argue.
The top end of the table was pretty well unaffected; Haywards Heath would certainly have been champions. At the bottom end, however, things would have been very tight. Three clubs could have gone done (along with Maidstone) and I think Dover’s slightly easier run-in makes them unlucky in the way things turned out.
By the way, I predicted we would lose at Colfes with a bonus point.
Daft, I know.
