Barry Sykes Dedication

On Sunday 18th November 2007 over a hundred friends of the late Barry Skyes, who tragically died in August 2006 following a traffic accident, attended the unveiling of a bench to his memory at Charlton Park's ground at Broadwalk Kidbrooke. The unveiling was conducted by his widow Sue Sykes, accompanied by her two sons. In addition to the bench  it was also announced that from Barry's memorial fund a set of shirts had been given to Charlton Park's youth team the "RBZ", in Barry's memory.

 

Also unveiled was a score board, dedicated to the memory of Barry Sykes, Peter Budd and Andy Allen. The three club members whose hard work and dedication obtained our previous clubhouse and ground at Pippenhall. The freehold of Pippenhall allowed us to eventually purchase our excellent facilities at Broadwalk.  It was unveiled by Sue Skyes (Barry's widow), Cecilia Sharpe (Peter Budd's daughter), and Virginia Allen (Andy Allen's widow).
